I know it isn"t shown in this trailer, but i like that they turned/replaced Mushu with a Phoenix, the actual Chinese symbol for a woman. Mushu worked as a dragon because Mulan was cross dressing, but it always made the movie feel cheap and under-researched to me. No song, no mushu, no grandma causing traffic. Disney wants it realistic: People can backflip on horses, run on walls, witch with powers. Best Disney movie of 2019 ?? A pleasant surprise ??.

That"s actually the best scene to me because it speaks to you that sometimes disobeying must come if it comes to protecting the one"s you care most. The song, the feeling, and the tension makes it more intense. I love it. Im taking animation course in college, now im having doubts after seeing this. It can be a good movie, but it has nothing to do with the original. A better title for this movie should be inspired by mulan. Finally, a live action remake that I accually want to see. Muuuch love yo donnie yen is in this movie. def gonna see. Mulan ain"t got no time to be waiting for Princes, she takes destiny into her own hands. IMO this is the most important scene in the film, the defining scene of the character that is Mulan. With a kickass beat to boot.

Grhhh I was so disappointed in Emma in Beauty and the Beast (but I did like the film, and Belle is my fave princess) Mulan is my 3d fave (after Belle & Pocahontas) and I really hope its gonna be good! Btw Im sad that they didn"t make a phoenix toy to go with new dolls released few weeks ago.

The last line after Mulan hugs the emperor is one of my favourites. Is she allowed to do that? Yao. everyone shrugs, not caring in the slightest. In 20 years they"ll start doing animated remakes of all their live action movies.

1:47 imagine if he missed lol. Sorry guys, I read the comments and I"ll be the only one to say, the movie was stupid & slovenly. The big ending - more like a punchline than the revelation meeting with the head witch - which was laughable. Comon, you can almost see the zippers in her ugly suit. The music was decent, but other than that, totally lazy & predictable writing with no twist, no plot. A major disappointment.

He thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts. It Chapter 2: Exists Sleep: doesnt. When I watched that sense with the naked grandma I was the only one laughing in the movie theater ??. Mrs. kersh wasnt scary for me. the scenes w the kids scared me the most. I"m a huge fan of Argento"s original Suspiria (Goblin"s original score omg) and I thought nothing could top it, BUT - as an also-longtime movie fan in general, I know that reboots are usually terrible. This one? Is not terrible. And it"s due entirely to Tilda Swinton"s performance. Somehow Dakota Johnson always manages to come off as a Mary Sue in whatever role she plays (not sure if that"s a directing choice or just a result of her choices in performance) so she"s annoying but at least she"s capable. And Thom Yorke"s score was just ethereal and terrifying. The director made some very interesting visual choices that - while very pretty - don"t really do much except look pretty, for the most part, which is a shame, but I kinda miss movies like this one that are longer than 90 minutes and don"t follow the standard boring formula beat for beat. I"m going to have to watch this a few more times to appreciate it fully (the ending is just a damp fart of a wtf and I still don"t understand the point of the doctor"s entire storyline except for padding and cheap heartstring tugging, which totally works) but I think this is going to wind up being one of my favorite films of this year (even though it came out last year lol.

Even though the movie seems like it would be focused on the fantasy aspects of Ofelias quest, instead its primarily focused on the captain and him imposing his will onto others.
